O most beautiful Flower of Carmel,
Fruitful Vine, Splendour of Heaven,
Holy and singular,
Blessed Mother of the Son of God,
Immaculate Virgin,
assist me this my necessity.
O Star of the Sea,
help me and show me you are my Mother.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth,
I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart,
to help me in this necessity;
there are none that can withstand your power.
O, show me you are my Mother,
O Mary, conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands.
Thank you for having clothed me in your scapular,
Thank you for leading me to your Son,
Thank you for having heard my prayer.
St. Therese, intercede for us.
Let's pray for one another to become holy.
I am especially asking Our Lady to undo all the knots caused by my sins and infidelities and defects of character, which have scandalized so many people in my life.
At our local Carmel the nuns use this ryhtmic version of the Flos Carmelii for the novena. Thought I would share it as it is so easy to memorize:
ReplyDeleteFlower of Carmel
Blossoming vine
Splendor of heaven
Mother divine
None like to you.
Mother of our King
Peerless and fair,
To your children of Carmel,
Favors grant ever,
O Star of the Sea.
I love that - thanks. It's attributed to Simon Stock - as you know.
DeleteThe Nuns where I live use this version too. Every day after Mass they recite it along with a prayer to the Infant King.
DeleteTerry, I love when you post prayers and observances for feasts and Saints. It is inspiring and edifying.
ReplyDeleteThe Nuns here start in on the 8th...
ReplyDeleteOLMC is a special observance. We need her intercession more then ever. Thank you Terry for the reminder.
