This steadfastness is what originally drove me crazy but eventually called me back. I wanted to do things my way but still be part of the Church. I wanted the Church to get with the times. I thought the Church should be a democracy. I thought change could come from the people within. But once I began to read and understand WHY the Church teaches what she does and I stopped resisting everything I saw that the Church was right. Are there teachings that are hard or that I don't particularly like? Of course! That's part of being human. There are times I chafe at having to be obedient but the problem is ME, not the Church. I could go on and on but I won't hijack your combox :)
