What in the heck is that supposed to be about?!? I know I'm from the South and Ignernt, but any work of Sacred Art that makes me need to take a Klonipin gives me devotional issues. Godamighty -- who's doin what all up in there?!? Our dear Lord is born, epiphanized, curcumcized, and baptized -- and child, my very last nerve is peeled and stomped. Pray that I may still be saved. (But I hate that painting!) Tell me you don't reject me, though, huh?
Mt favorite part of the painting is the lower left hand corner. Every time I see the Master in that little corner I am reminded of the great Flemish masters. ^^
Looking at any other part of this particular painting is just too noisy and busy for me.
Never saw this one before. I had a wonderful book of Dali's work which I lent to someone and well, gone forever... There are many things beautiful about this. I really like most of Dali's work, except anything with flies in it. Gross. Do you know the title?

DeleteI'm not sure Dali meant this as a devotional work per se - rather an epic image of the tremendous hopes VII held out for Church and the World.
Disturbing and chaotic.
