Pope Francis and Our Lady, Virgin of Charity, El Cobre

More photos here.

All weekend, there has been so much coverage on MSM - from PBS to network news.  What a wonderful grace.

Prayers for the Holy Father and all who are touched by his Apostolic visit.

  1. The image of La Morenita de Caridad con el niño Jesus is just so precious. Such a small image and yet she is there with her children as slowly but surely, the hearts of many are being opened to the Lord of Life.

What a grace too, to know how the faith has survived despite the brutality that is Castro's regime. What witness smiling Cardinal Ortega brings after having been sent to a prison work camp when he was much younger. I am sure he was protected and kept safe under the Morena's mantle.

I think that if we stop and reflect on the many wonders before us, we need thank St. JP II, Papa Emerito, and now, by God's grace, Papa Panchito.

Cuba remains open - however small - to continue to allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate and encourage the growth of the many seeds planted long ago.

Where the Virgencita is, her Son will be.

    Amen!

    1. Same here. The atmosphere of the first Mass in Revolution Square was one of festive joy. To see the children swaying to the singing was sweet. It was like an all Cuban Gospel revival of sorts. ^^

BTW, Terry did you see that beautiful crucifix Raul Castor gave to our Holy Father? I think it is so beautiful. I read it was made by Cuban immigrants.
