Man Crisis Intervention: Scary shrieking women taking over.

Shrieking woman.
Dresses like man - shrieks like woman.

What if?

What if we woke up to this one morning and it was in the White House.

Right there is one big reason for the Man Crisis problem.

Women have taken over media too.

One local CBS affiliate features mostly women anchors, weather-girls and reporters, all very fashionably, tightly attired - lots of leg and hair extensions, and ooooh and aaaaah clunky jewelry; Red Carpet types.  Shrieking the news, giggling, eye-rolling, baby talking weather and animal shelter stories to fill time avoiding actual news.  Other channels have their own stable of similar on-air Stepford women - and men.  Sensitive men.  Really, really sensitive.

Remember the press conference recently when Obama only called on women?  Women are dominating the news media and slowly taking over politics and business and parishes.

That's your man crisis right there.

Oh, and gays in the military.

What?

Mr. Catholic recommends
men drink strong, black coffee - no femme green teas
or healthy substitutes - and quit shaving your chest.

Song for this post here.

  1. The Abbey-Roads hits just keep on rolling. Wish I had more time to comment, but my jokes aren't missed. Especially by the husbands of Patheos bloggers who inform me via e-mail that I'm a pig. Personally, I just think he still hasn't forgiven me for outing him when he used to troll as "The Jerk". LOL

    2. I don't think they're very nice people; she tries to be funny but isn't. Some of her posts are quite good but overall, she's another paid blogger who must produce a certain number of posts per week, per her contract.

    3. Oh. Now I know. Yeah - I never read her - except for one story about buying steak.

    4. Any couple that has eight children nowadays must have their hearts in the right place--unless they are SSPX or muslim (I'm kidding!). She was in town some months back for a Woman's Retreat, and I really regret that I didn't take her out to dinner. A Brazilian steakhouse, a bottle of '92 Dominus, a view of Mt. Hood.

      What?

    5. Imagine a writer honoring their contract by publishing the agreed upon posts-per-week; the horror! I find her quite funny, whoever she is. Nice is a place in France. Huh?

    7. I should probably clarify something right now. I don't read that many Catholic bloggers and fewer Catholic journalists - which is why I don't know a lot of people - who they are or what they write. I only read a couple of people at Patheos - on occasion - whom I read before they got there. I don't like the ad format at Patheos or other ad filled sites - so I tend to avoid these places. I don't care if people have ads or make $ blogging though - everyone needs to earn a living. It's just like reading the ends of articles buried at the back of a magazine between the ads though - I usually don't finish those articles because, truth be told, they're just not all that interesting.

That said, I don't read mommy blogs or women's blogs on a regular basis - probably for the same reason people don't read my blog - I'm not interested.

I will say one thing however, ordinary Catholics who blog and then hire out or get invited to speak at a parish event or retreat or some conference - I always wonder why? What's wrong with religious ed at the parish level that they resort to that? One blogger was scheduled to speak at a woman's day at a parish on Benedictine spirituality. The woman never before - to my knowledge - ever wrote a thing about Benedictine spirituality and ordinary lay-life. Her advice column blog was never about that. Then suddenly she goes on the lecture circuit. If the content of your blog is pretty shallow to begin with, what kind of distilled wisdom could you possibly convey to a captive audience on the parish level. (Even for some of the published writers at Patheos, a lot of their spiritual writing is pretty lightweight and commercial to begin with.)

It doesn't matter to me and I know people need to make a living - but come on. You won't give a down and out guy on the street a couple of bucks for a pint but you will pay to hear some chick talk about whatever? I just find it remarkable that people dole out money online so easily.

If I had any advice, I'd say start talking to your family, your spouses, your kids, or your neighbors instead - whatever you are looking for online can be found in real life experience. Live and start communicating with people in your life. Stay offline and out of the squabbles.

And for God's sake - save your money for the poor.

  2. So then terry, you agree with this crazy dingbat who came to a Latin mass I served at who said women are stealing all the jobs in the Church and bringing it to ruin?

And what say you, is the solution to this hostile takeover then?

  3. Oh. Mr catholic might be prone to weight gain with that coffee as it raises cortisol levels. The green tea while a milder caffeine stimulant is suppose to also boost metabolism.

  4. Well, Hilary could claim to identify with the transgenders, say she's really a man, and have sex reassignment. Bill could then go on w/his on-the-side hijinks and everyone would be happy.

    What?

    2. St. Jose Escriva would blame Bill's philandering on the failure of the wife ... you may be right Jeron.

  5. I'm going out on a limb here. For the purposes if identifying proper partners for dancing, dating, marriage, and procreation gender is important. But for everything else...to quote Hillary Rodham Clinton for the first and last time ever: What difference does it make?
