Christmas truce...

Peace online.

Christmastime means it's quiet online.  Not many people are online - probably because many are off work Christmas week, and they have a lot going on.  That's good, because it makes for a sort of truce - no com box fights because there are fewer contentious posts.  Things should pick up after the weekend, or at least after New Year's.

I was wondering last night why we get so upset over what people write on their blogs?

I'm been wondering that for years.

    1. For instance (since you asked ;-) - if you were at a party and someone said something you didn't like, it is highly unlikely you would start screaming at them.

And as for the people that claim someone is leading people astray? People hear what they want to hear and look for people to back up what they've already come to believe. If people are "led astray" because of something a blogger wrote, they have much bigger problems to deal with - or something.

    2. I answered my own question in my latest post - just for fun of course.

I agree with what Adrienne said, and I'll add that in reading a blog people have time to work themselves up into a high dudgeon, which they don't have time to do about a casual spoken comment. Then they feel free to "yell" at the writer because they don't have to look into his eyes and recognize his humanity. There are a lot of angry, unhappy people out there. Some of them go to Mass regularly, but what happens there doesn't sink in.

That's a lovely, sweet image. Is it of Mary as a shepherdess?
