Practicing what he preaches, Pope Francis showed up
to lead his first public prayer at the papal summer home
in a humble Ford Focus.
His predecessor, Pope Benedict XV1, tooled around town in a custom-made Renault, a BMW X5 and a Mercedes.
Meanwhile, true to form, Pope Francis is not staying at the pretty papal summer home for the season. He made the trip just for the day. - NY Post
Song for this post here.
I can't help it!
how humble....wait maybe not....what hype
ReplyDeleteI'm just having fun with the story. He could bike to Castel Gondolfo for all I care.

ReplyDelete....and meanwhile, the Castel Gondolfo merchants suffer greatly for the lack of summer tourism, all in the name of humility. Well, I guess maybe P.F. really does love the poor and is showing it by making more of them.
How dare he! If Castel Gondolfo was good enough for St. Peter, it's good enough for Pope Francis.
ReplyDeleteWhere have you been?! Did you have a nice time?
DeleteYes, thank you. I had a very nice time. I didn't want to leave the beach house and come back home.
DeleteI drive a 1977 Ford LTD (yellow in color). I can't put groceries in the trunk because it's rusted out. A new Ford Focus might as well be a Renault to me.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, when our heat went out, Father Z did a fundraiser for our family and raised over $2000. We have a new heat/air system thanks to Father Z.
ReplyDeleteSee how much good he does? There is a dispute on his work over at Crescat - I wonder if you'd like to leave a comment there?
