Solemnity of the Mother of God

The miracle that Moses witnessed on Sinai in the burning bush

Foretold your virgin childbearing, O pure Mother.

We the faithful cry to you:

Rejoice, O truly living bush!

Rejoice, O holy mountain!

Rejoice, O sanctified expanse and most holy Theotokos!

  3. Off the subject a little; what do you make of Our Lady of Good Help shrine in Campion, Wis.? I had never heard of it before this week.

  4. Melody, it is a quiet, somewhat unremarkable little place - I've been there - it seems like an average small town church - there have always been ex-votos but not in great profusion. I'm pleased the Bishop chose to dignify the shrine by official ecclesial approval. Perhaps it will now attract many devotees. There is nothing sensational about the devotion.

  5. "There is nothing sensational about the devotion." I'm sure that is a good thing!
I have heard people say the same thing about Our Lady of Knock; that it is a quiet, unremarkable place. Maybe more quiet places to find Mary and her Son are what we need in our noisy world.

  6. Good comparison Melody - I think it may be a lot like Knock.
