Try to enter the narrow way...

Abba Matoes said that three old men went to Abba Paphnutius, who was called Cephalus, to ask a word from him. The old man said to them, 'What do you want me to say to you? A spiritual word, or a bodily word?' They said, 'A spiritual word.' The old man said to them, 'Go, and choose trials rather than stillness, shame rather than glory, and to give rather than to receive.' - Abba Matoes

The assasination of George Tiller.

"Wichita police say that abortion provider Dr. George Tiller has been shot and killed at his Wichita church.
.
The Wichita Eagle was reporting on its Web site, Kansas.com, that Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the congregation.
.
Tiller has been among the few U.S. physicians performing late-term abortion. His clinic has repeatedly been the site of protests for about two decades." - Source
.
Pray for the mercy of God upon Dr. Tiller's soul and for his murderer to be caught and brought to justice.
.
"The season of judgment has begun, and begun with God's own household." 1 Peter 4: 12-19

Terry, that same verse from 1 Peter flashed into my mind today as soon as I heard this shocking news. Judgment always begins in the house of God.

Scary - that verse packs a wallop.

I'm flabberghasted that a man that did that for a living went to church on a regular basis.

I did pray for him.

Interesting that today is Pentecost. We're going to need a huge influx of the Holy Spirit to withstand a potentially terrible aftermath.

Along with Ray, I was pretty surprised that a man who performed late-term abortions was a father/grandfather who attended church regularly. That contradictory life is beyond me. I was also shocked at the woman from his church they kept showing on the news saying that she couldn't believe such an evil could take place in her community...and she meant the murder, because killing babies is no big deal. I'm not defending his murder, but I find the murder of countless children to be a much greater evil.

Lord have mercy.
