I love the Infant Jesus, and The Divine Infant of Prague - next to me here, where I write, is ... a perhaps 10" statue of Him: and I have asked this Infant to be the King of my little house and my little life: a beseeching I could not have conceived of in my youth: and I think the worst thing of this age we are in is, yes, the hideous treatment of the so innocent infants and young people. Not 'just' abortion...but the pollution of young minds...the stealing of children's innocence by media/news/porn/rapes/sexual abuse/on & on: and of course the many many wars, displacements, the physical poverty of many parents...children need love and love and love and tenderness beyond measure....I must simply imagine the healing love and tenderness awaiting so many victims upon their arrival in Heaven...and the grief of Christ and His Mother over what we have wrought here. I enjoy the company of the children in my neighborhood and the mere thought of any of them being hurt is terrible. This summer I have enjoyed a lot of help with planting, digging,etc and I've answered many questions about the reasons we are to gently pick up worms and return them to shady, dirty places: well many questions like this. Now that this year they are a little bigger I give them my scissors so they can cut flowers themselves. I'll miss them with school beginning next week ! sorry for going on and on.

I am avoiding all he nasty news on TV and social media. It has done wonders for my peace of mind. I am using a site called "My Morning Offering" to try and redirect my internet addiction to more uplifting things. Lovely prayer. I went to two Masses today hoping to hear about St. Rose of Lima--a homily, or even just some remarks at the beginning of Mass. I had no success. She'll pray for us anyway.
