More Quick Takes (I'm taking most of them from other bloggers)

Holy Card credit/quote credit:
A Bear and a Badger walked into a bar
and axed, "where all the white women at?"

On the role of women in the church:

“Women ought to stay at home; the way they were created indicates this, for they have broad hips and a wide fundament to sit upon.” - Martin Luther, Table Talk, 55

BTW - When Trump goes to Washington, Melania is staying home in NY at the Tower.  He has great respect for women.

Another Quick Take

I saw it on TV.  Tavis had Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz on last night with the real story about Thanksgiving and what we did to the Native Americans and Thanksgiving as we know it with Indians and Colonists was made up in the early 20th century by advertising executives and the real Thanksgiving pretty much began during - or was it after - the Civil War and had nothing to do with Indians and, and, we stole lands from the Indians and we committed genocide and we need to read her book:  All the Real Indians Died

I'm serious - even though I ran that all together.  My dad always claimed I had Indian blood but my mother said he was a lying S.O.B. just like his mother who told him that.  She wanted to be Jewish, and so I went with that one.  Regardless, I'm on the side of Native Americans.  Currently there is great concern over the pipeline issue in South Dakota with the Dakota Access Pipeline Protests.

Ms. Dunbar-Ortiz had some things to say about the issue, and how any support from Trump is probably a lost cause.  She thinks he is a disaster for Native American rights, recalling his lawsuit from the '90's blaming Native Americans for his financial problems:
Donald J. Trump, who owns three casinos in Atlantic City, has sued the Federal Government, maintaining that allowing Indian tribes to open casinos discriminates against him. - Full story here.

 So anyway...

Thanksgiving is cancelled.

Sarah Palin for Interior secretary?
We are all doomed.

    1. This story should be front page news ...

    2. I don't think it was that article but I sent one to a friend and said I got off lightly...the squirrel where I used to live was ready to pack his bags and move in. He chewed a lot of screens.

  3. I like that Melania is her own woman no matter the critics. It was her decision to continue to live in New York until her son finishes the school year.

Seems no amount of hot air can get her to budge.

    2. So true, Terry. I am on the opinion she was not on board 100% from the get go and the Tower is her refuge from the onslaught that is only just beginning. I read somewhere that NYC is spending something to the tune of 1,000,000 to pay for the Trump family's protection while causing traffic chaos and havoc.

Gonna be a long four years for her and her little boy. :(

    3. You can take Manhattan, just give me Park Avenue. What? Oh, wait, Lisa was his first wife.

  4. Melania knows something we do not. She never was on board with Donald's crusade. Why should she work at no pay for the American people with little respect in return. The whole family will weekend at Mar-Lago. This was Marjorie Merriweather Posts fabulous estate that she gave to the US Government at her death for the President to use as a Winter White House. Jimmy Carter turned down the gift with a thanks, but no thanks. He said it was too ostentatious and expensive to keep us. Donald bought at a bargain price. Lo and behold Marjorie must be a happy camper to see her wish fulfilled anyway. It must be Karma! I post long ago that Donald was clear that he did not want to leave NYC or his Tower. At best he will commute to the Oval Office. The Whit House just is not their style. So be it. There is much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. I for one will take my direction from Pope Francis. I hope he lives a long time to guide us through what promises to be a very turbulent 2017. Fatima seems more relevant then ever. The rosary is our best weapon and defense.

    1. Knows something we do not? That is nothing new as I am sure every single president has his dark side with secrets up the wahzoo but thanks be to God, I do not have to stay awake at night thinking about them secrets. I have a few of my own as do we all but we press onwards regardless. ^^

I suppose all we need do is look at Papa Francis to understand president-elect Trump's desire to stay close to home. If Papa Francis can do it, why not any one else? As long as he stays the course, keeps to his word, eases up on the coarse behavior, allows himself to be fine-tuned so as to appeal to folks when he talks.

And one more thing! Kill your Twitter account! No man in such a high ranking office, should be getting into Twitter rants/squabbles at this point of the game. In my opinion, you lose credibility, respect, and you end up feeding the monster hating Trump frenzy.

I will keep praying for president-elect Trump and his family. In fact, I am going to ask the glorious St. Joseph to be my prayer partner for the tenure of this Trump presidency. I am going to ask him to accompany Mr. Trump wherever he goes from now on and also,

St. Joseph, please whisper in his ear to tone it down and allow himself to be molded in truth, mercy, justice and love. Amen!
