Michael Voris update.

Michael Voris is suggesting we pray for Holy Mother Church, offering an extra decade of the Rosary.  This, after a Bishop in Rome asked him to ask his viewers to pray.  I will do so.

Voris also updates with comments on the scandal he reported on earlier last week - the priest whistle-blower has been arrested, and authorities are claiming he was lying.  Voris remains skeptical.

Michael Voris concedes that there may not be a well organized group, such as a 'gay mafia', but rather a 'loose confederation' of like-minded clerics, doing whatever it is they do.  That is what I've always maintained and it seems more believable.  I liken it to be sort of like the 'Sodomites' mentioned in Brideshead - the group of students at Oxford to which Sebastian belonged, and into which Charles was more or less inducted.  These are cliques - or to use Voris' term, 'loose confederations'.  I think they feed off the powerful in their orbit, and exert limited, but often effective influence over their hosts.

Voris seems to be on to something...  I wouldn't be so quick in trying to discredit him.

    1. Good thing too - because Fr. Z really knows his way around the Vatican and Rome.

  2. It takes courage to be willing to report the difficult stories. Pope Benedict knew plenty after the investigation was handed to him on Dec. 17th. It disturbed him greatly. The least I can do is continue to pray the six decade rosary. A single Rosary is not much to ask to save our Church against such darkness. St. Teresa of Avila taught her nuns to pray the six decade rosary following the Brigittenes' custom. She adopted the six decade rosary as part of their habit.

Each extra sixth decade prayed at the end of each mystery was offered to honor Our Lady. The Joyful 6th decade honored Mary's Immaculate Conception. The 6th decade of the Glorious mystery honored her patronage as the Mediatrix of All Graces and Queen of Carmel. The Sorrowful 6th decade honored Mary holding Jesus after being taken down from the cross. When Our Lady appeared to Bernadette, it is said that Our Lady prayed the 6 decade rosary, while Bernadette prayed five. This is why the statue of the Crowned Virgin in the square at Lourdes depicts her with a six decade rosary.

If it is good enough for The Immaculate Conception and St. Teresa guess it is the least I can do.

  3. This Voris guy, what an interesting "character." Who knew such a person existed??The bad part of me thinks that he is a media, uh, "attention grabber." and that he is working through some "issues," as he breathlessly reports the latest new of the "Gay Cabal." (which interestingly enough, if I am following this, has been downgraded from a group of Gay Satanists Pedophelia Ring in the upper reaches of the Vatican to a "loose organization of gays," and the chief witness is a convicted pedo priest!) Meanwhile, there is the banking scandal which is right there to be reported on but Voris ignores that to focus on the more "Nationl Enquirer," story. Hey a broken clock is right twice a day so who knows...

  4. The older I get, the more I wonder why I would waste much time on the scandal of the day. Some of the most virtuous priests I know, when I began sharing scandal stories on my blog, discouraged me (and they were orthodox, and they understood it all better than I did, and lived through many of the problems). They would always tell me that scandals have been with us from the beginning and will be until the end of time. They suggested that it would be better use of time to go into Adoration and make acts of reparation when we become aware of such things rather than engage in speculation. I'm beginning to get it. It really does feed our lower human nature, which gravitates to scandal. I wrote on it here: http://te-deum.blogspot.com/2013/07/wherein-i-agree-with-jimmy-akin-on.html
