Did you know that "Cindy" is the most common name for little girls' imaginary friends?

  1. I grew up on a farm with no companions until my siblings started arriving when I was five. I did, however, have three imaginary friends: Kenny, Billy and Squall. Kenny and Billy were the names of our hired hands, but "Squall"? No idea.

The reason I think St. Lucy likes me is that I love my imaginary friend Lucy so much.

    Is there a St. Cindy?

  3. Yes - she is St. Cynthia, an Egyptian martyr.

Did you know that some one with the name Lucky could have as a patron saint either St. Lucy, or St. Luke - Lucius?

  4. I never had invisible friends because I had the saints. I pretended they were my companions and talked to them - still do.

  5. Clearly the imaginary friend "Cindy" is short for Cinderella, because the child feels oppressed.

    What?

I never had an imaginary friend; my brother did. Her name was Carleenya, she was green and lived in his ear.

    1. Doesn't make any difference, St. Cynthia was Cinderella's patron too - even though she was Jewish.

Your brother's patron would have been - gender appropriately - St. Charles, Carlos, Cyril, and so on.

    2. Cinderella is Jewish? No wonder she had to leave the ball so quickly. Sundown was coming and it would be the Sabbath?

    3. Oops - it was Cinderfella who is Jewish - Jerry Lewis. I always get them mixed up.
