Seriously.
He's in Rome live blogging at this very historic moment in Church history - and his lap top died. Father posted about it here. He hopes to borrow a lap top - but I wonder if somehow he could just get a new one? He has donation buttons on his blog, his cell phone works, some one out there could maybe help him get a new lap top in Rome.
Just sayin'.
All I can offer is prayers.
I don't know why I posted this with comments closed. I got a few comment via email however and all three think it is a sign - one person suggested it was because he cancelled out on the retreat.
ReplyDeleteI just felt sorry for him.
I feel likewise. I've got to load money into PayPal to put something in his tin cup. When you really think about it, he's got a lot of expenses that most of us don't even think about. He's got to keep upgrading to bigger servers (which means greater fees); then there is likely more expensive security software.
ReplyDeleteMany of us read his blog daily. Even when you can't agree with him on something, there is the bulk of his work that is very informative. He has filled a niche for years now.
Early on when I came into blogging, in 2006, his analysis (or fisking) of dissenting pieces was helpful for me because I could sense something was off, but didn't have the tools to figure out what was off. I think that is one reason a lot of people read those kinds of posts.
Many of us were not taught basic logic, and nuances in the English language. He can pull stuff out of sloppy pieces, and quickly.
I pray he gets things running in time or gets a loaner. Hey, there are a bunch of Curia heads who won't be needing theirs maybe they ought to loan one out. Lol
No excuses. There are Internet Cafes all over Rome. One can rent a computer by the half hour. Faxing, printing services. Open late. Most serve drinks and food, too. That's what I used over there.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to help, but not so long as he continues to seek donations for his "ammo" fund.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why a priest needs ammo, but there is indeed a donation button at the bottom of his blog for that purpose. Father also wrote about it. Rather than speculate about his motives, etc. I choose not to lend any more financial support. I am a great admirer of Father's intelligence and wit and he will always be in my prayers but that will be the extent of my support for him. That's all :)
ReplyDeleteI need a new computer for the ISJ and Nazareth priest needs one as well. Donate to us...the furthest I travel is the local Walmart.
