Yesterday was the feast of St. Phillip Neri, a favorite saint of mine, and a wonderful saint especially devoted to the Holy Spirit, and extravagantly gifted with charismata. I was blessed to have been baptised on his feast day, which this year, happened to be the Vigil of Pentecost.
On this feast of the Holy Spirit, I want to express my gratitude to the Holy Trinity for the favors granted to St. Phillip as well as to myself.

ReplyDeleteMy Confessor is a Diocesan priest and my parish associate pastor. We've been blessed to have him here for 6 years now, and were expecting his transfer; but he told me just this morning that our Archbishop is allowing something new. He, and 2 other priests of the Archdiocese (one is a close friend of his, the other their mutual mentor), will be allowed to live together in a new Association while still having active ministry within the Archdiocese. While no longer living at our parish rectory, my Confessor will still be active in our parish, assigned here if you will ... but living at another site in a sort of Oratory. I think our Archbishop is using them as a test case to see if this model of priestly life will work for us here, in view of the dwindling number of priests with ever-expanding territories.
As you might know, your holy Archbishop is from here originally, and he formed just such a group of priests who are known as the Companions of Christ and they live in the same manner, producing some of the very best priests our Archdiocese has ever seen. Your confessor and his confreres are blessed to have such an Archbishop.
