Public Service Announcement: Shadowlands is offline.

SHADOWLANDS IS OFFLINE I SAY!
.
Shadowlands deleted her blog.  She is okay - she just decided to take the blog down.  However - someone, something took her blog over but what is there is not hers.  I deleted my link because I think the new site is an alien portal and while I was on it I felt my breath being sucked out of my mouth and so I quickly shut down - rebooted the computer and deleted that dastardly site.  Monkberry moon delight!
.
Guess what?  Fr. Z is on a plane going someplace.  I know.
.
'So what', you say?  Halloween weekend?  Don't you see?  Can't you figure it out?
.
BTW - for people who put up and take down blogs like dressing and undressing - you lose followers and readers and links when you do that.  It's better to keep your crazy old posts and just keep blogging - you can't erase the past.

  2. Or if you want to keep blogging after your order disbands, just start a new blog instead of restricting the blog with all your fantastic posts(I really miss SubTuum)

  3. I unfortunately am sooo OCD/ADD/LMNOP that I have been missing all these blog closures, because I don't LINK to blogs like I should. So it takes me a few days before I realize it, and usually someone has announced it.

I thought about rebooting my blog once, especially after confronted locally by a priest who said that several anonymous people had come to him claiming that I had a blog and I was critical and judgmental. I asked him who said that and he said he felt it would be improper to tell me, but that they were good people. He then asked if I was indeed judgmental and critical and I said I was critical, but judgment was for God alone.

So I left my past posts up. If you want to criticize or judge me, ill give you all the ammo you need. Just come talk to me though, I would much prefer that.

I too hope that Ros is OK. I used to come across her on different blogs and I miss her. Ros has a good heart, always has others in mind and was terribly honest about her own demons. Moreover, she was never frightened to speak out and defend Our Faith.

I have witnesed Ros being treated with utter contempt on FR. Z's blog, on this one and on others. In honesty, I bitterly regret that I did not defend her at the time. I have to say that being attacked and insulted by the more traditional among us does not sit well with me. It happened to me a few days ago when I was torn to shreds by a traditional blogger because I recieve Our Lord on the hand and not on the tongue.
Life has taught me that we do far more damage with our tongues than we will ever do with our hands.

So, I hold a good thought for Ros and I keep her in my prayers.

I've seen it, too. Sometimes, the combox on other sites can take on a mob mentality where people cease to think for themselves and pile on, completely checking their Christianity at the door. We should all take care not to get drawn into that vacuum.

I have to say I've only seen one blogger viciously attack Ros and Ros held her own. I offered her some advice off-line about it because she was in a no-win situation where it's better to just walk away and let the person wallow in their own self-righteousness. The attacks were so personal and vitriolic I feared for what it might do to her, but Ros is no shrinking violet. I do hope she comes back to us but let's continue to pray for her in the meantime.

  8. I love her too - she wrote honestly and directly from the heart - she also exhibited great compassion and understanding.

When she asked me to post this she was concerned that her blogspot had been taken and wasn't sure by whom, so she asked I announce she is offline and abandoned the blog. She may return. But she stressed that she is doing very well - nothing is wrong, but she just decided it was better to not be blogging these days. Very sweetly, she mentioned she loves all of us - even those who attacked and scorned her.

Let's all pray for one another. I hope she reads this to see your friendship. God bless!

  10. God bless you, Ros. I'll pray for you.

If you're not going to blog, we'd still love to see you and your comments around - you always have something good to say, something that can only come from a deep love of and dependence on Christ.

  12. Thanks for letting us know about Ros. I noticed that her blog was taken over by someone else and was wondering what had happened to her. After visiting the site I quickly got off and ran a complete scan for viruses (lol). I'll miss Ros.
