Smarter than the Magisterium.

John, the Beloved Disciple outran Peter, yet the Divine Theologian did not go ahead of Peter, but waited for him at the entrance of the tomb...
.
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first; he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in. When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths 6 there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.  - John 20: 3-8
.
Some people imagine themselves holier than the Church, others believe themselves to be more Catholic than the Pope, likewise there are those who imagine they are smarter than the Church, Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture, as well as the Pope and the bishops in communion with him.
.
Pity.

  2. What, then, of Unam Sanctum? (I checked; I'm allowed to use those big words even though I don't wear a pectoral cross.)

  3. Speaking of smarter than the Magisterium, I was amused and saddened by this all at once:

  4. Ah yes, John waited for Peter.

But remember it was the women who were enlightened about the resurrection first. Mary Magdalen, is the one who told the Apostles, told the first Pope, Peter the Great News of the resurrection. That's why the two apostles were running in the first place.

But even she deferred to Peter, the one chosen by Christ was to be told. She went straight to Peter (He happened to be with the other Apostles) to tell him what the Angel told her.

All I mean, is sometimes God chooses to reveal NOT through the magisterium but through others, some not even clerics. But they should Magdalen's position and let Rome (Peter) know.

  5. The Ordinary Magisterium of Holy Mother Church is us.

The Proper Magisterium is the Bishop of Rome and all the Bishops.

When we as the ordinary speak on those things as pronounced by the Proper Magisterium, we may appear to be a smart-aleck.

We are allowed to speak on matters of Faith; we must however be on guard against heresy or the permitting of heresy.

When we speak on matters of Faith, we must not attempt to invent or support novelty or new beliefs, such as the homosexual agenda has recently tried to do on this blog.

    Satan is behind those efforts.

  6. Saint Michael Come To Our Defense - Well said, and Satan, being the smarty-pants he is, presents the homosexualist agenda as Christian Charity.

  9. Thanks to everyone for their prayers this week..

My five engineering inspections went very well, two of the inspections had findings of “Best Seen to Date” in several critical areas.

I have three concluding inspections next week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday…please keep me in your prayers.

St Joseph..thank you for your intercessions. As you designed and built household items to nuture and assist the Holy Family in their day to day life and activities, so guide me that my engineering designs and taskings will be ultimately for the Glory of God and the good of those on Earth.

    God Bless… Sara
