The new Bishop of Scranton.

Doesn't he kinda look like an aged Kenny Bania in this shot?

  1. He's inherited a broke, and broken, diocese. May God be with him.

  2. Yes, indeed. Fortunately, he knows it, having been the main contact for Cardinal Rigali for the past six months or so.

There'll be lots more church closings and property sales there in the near future. But I would imagine that Scranton is not exactly a boom-town these days; so the property won't bring in nearly what the parishioners paid for it in blood, sweat and tears.

  3. Saint John Vianney inherited a broken Parish in Ars.

It is a concern that this Bishop is not wearing his cassock with a Roman collar. The Roman collar is a yoke sybolizing servitude to Christ.

    Hmmmmm......

    May God be with him.

May the Cure of Ars help him.

  4. I actually know nothing about Msgr. Bambera, nor do I have an opinion to share on him or the situation in Scranton - he just reminds me of Bania in this photo. I'm just a Seinfeld fan, ya know?
