  1. When I was a parochial vicar, my pastor told me that when I also become a pastor, there will be a time that I should act like a SOB when I make a decisive decisions in the parish. Now as a pastor, so far I haven't acted as a SOB yet.

  2. My mother, God bless her, never resorted to this... (in her "lack of culpability moments"--which I had surely brought about through some words or deed--she said all kinds of other things) but I think this is very hilarious!!
David Sedaris in one of his books, recounts the situation where he has ticked off a little neighbor girl, and his mother is helping him move out of the apartment, lest he get into more trouble...the little girl, as they are taking this to the car, says through a key-hole to his mother, "Bitch!". And without missing a beat, she says, "Sister, you don't know the half of it!" :-)!!
    Priceless!

  3. Hi Fr. Gary - I can't imagine you acting like an SOB ever.

Hi Father NP - you must have had a nice mother. Lucky you.

  4. I am very fortunate, Terry.
I probably would have ended up a complete mess, in jail, in rehab, in some kind of mental institution...God spared me...
It was a constant "in house" joke...my mother posted an Erma Bombeck column, "The Worst Mother in the World" on the refrigerator...she would quote it to me when I was "having a fit" about something or other...
I'm very sorry if any child has had to hear this from their mother; truly sorry.

    Hysterical, Padre.

I don't know what I am going to do when Jack goes. I have been in love w/ Jack, FOREVER. He was raised by his Mother and four sisters. One of his "sisters" was acutally his Mother. He found out later. I gues that explains Jack's complicated relationships w/ women, huh?
