The Fires in California

CreditJustin Sullivan/Getty Images

Fire came so fast to the wooded town of Paradise, a four-hour drive north of San Francisco, that roads quickly became impassable. Many people abandoned their vehicles, and at least seven people died in their cars. Paradise is popular with retirees — the town’s median age is 50 — and the authorities struggled to evacuate older residents. At least 35 people have been reported missing. The sheriff fears that number will rise. - NYT

What is next?

Prayers for all suffering such loss from disaster and terror.  Prayers for the dead.

  2. My beautiful state burning in beautiful areas is so sad. Looking at the pictures of the fires, thinking of those who lost their lives while trying to flee, I hope they were with the Lord in those final moments and died quick rather than endure the burning flames.
So much destruction everywhere! It is being reported by some that they cannot estimate as to when they can bring it under control. It is also being reported that downed power lines sparked which led to the horrible fire of that beautiful piece of God's country once known as Paradise, California.

Please keep us all in your prayers.
