Don't be surprised.
Pray for the Holy Father and the bishops in communion with him. I think this is part of the prayer and penance Our Lord requires right now.
The call to prayer and penance from the Holy Father is very serious and urgent. We need great charity to respond. Ask for it.
"We need great charity to respond"
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for the grace to respond but to also become silent since I have done way too much talking and not enough prayer regarding this entire affair.
I stand with Papa Francis.
Is this the dawning of the "dark days" so many visionaries have predicted? Do not forget that our problems are but one part of a web of similar situations that have existed just below the radar screen across society. The common denominator? Lack of respect for life on all levels. I am finding it difficult to embrace prayer at the moment. I feel betrayed, angry and discouraged at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Nothing would delight Satan more than for us to give in and give up. They don't call us the church militant for nothing. This is not a time for weakness and retreat. Keep the Faith, do *not* leave the Church, pray hard for the spiritual protection of the Church and its faithful laity and clergy, hope, and expect action - not necessarily from our leadership - but from Jesus and Our Lady.
ReplyDeleteSo funny. I found my Mary, Undoer of Knots novena booklet today.
ReplyDeleteDid you happen to hear or read the First Reading today, feast of the Queenship of Mary? From Exekiel re shepherds who take care of themselves to the ruin of the sheep. Talk about timely: God saying then what he's saying today, 'Enough! I'm cleaning house!' I keep praying for those he is raising up to bring us out of this nightmare.
ReplyDeleteI did - it was part of my prayer today.
