The dishonesty is too much.

The boys in the choir.

I just read a post on another site about hidden homos in traditionalist camps - Church Militant evidently ran a story on it.

A comment from a male choir director alerted subscribers to CM that choirs and TLM celebrations frequently involve homosexuals as directors - and sodomites in the choir!  Another comment revealed that a former SSPX man told a fellow that he was gay and didn't fit in with the group (SSPX pilgrims).  The gay man later became an FSSP priest.  That set the other commenter's teeth on edge - sodomites in traditionalist orders and groups?!  Oh my!  Who would have thunk it?

Like that is somehow a surprise?  Same Sex Attracted men - gay or not - actually populate your pews, choir lofts, schools, seminaries and monasteries, along with priests and bishops who also admit privately that they too 'have SSA'.  They are in the EF just like they are in the OF.

These people paint your frescoes, make your statues, design your churches and monasteries.  They do your flowers, bake your cakes.

    1. Hiding behind is right - this post was going to be longer but I have other things to attend too. But this is a huge problem in the Church and I think it is something Fr. Martin is absolutely correct about when he points to homophobia in the Church. The post and commentary I refer to is inflammatory in so far as it brands and shames 'gay/ssa' Catholics - be they trad or ordinary. The ssa-gay terminology can be one more 'cover' to hide behind, and another way to shame and exclude. If there is no gay how can one be an ex-gay? If you have the ss attraction and never act on it, why would anyone need to say they have ssa? There is so much sleight of hand and often sincere, faithful Catholics are dishonest about their lives to protect themselves from further ostracisation or rash-judgment and slander. There is little respect for the person and privacy, in their zeal they view everything through the lens of ideological intolerance. Anyway - these people who see sodomites around every corner create panic and foment hostility with their outing projects. Branding people they do not know, and so on. I wish I had the time to comment or post on it.

    3. I just read it - I completely forgot about Diogenes. I guess I knew this - it certainly explains why many bishops refused to establish a Courage chapter in their diocese and why many welcome Fr. Martin's approach. I'm at a loss, except for the fact the mere suspicion of being gay, without any admission on the part of the bishop would be a matter of detraction on the part of the accuser. The Church and hierarchy is a dysfunctional institution. It could be the denial is so extreme that no one allowed themselves to believe the rumors and stories. JPII always dismissed such stories based upon the Soviet anticlerical disinformation disseminated to discredit the clergy. I think many in authority felt the same way. I dunno what to say?

    4. One more thought - it is better to follow Christ's command, 'do as they say, not as they do.' Likewise, we need to avoid human esteem and idolatry when it comes to how we treat and regard hierarchy. Like I said, there are trad clergy that are just as gay as their Novus Ordo confreres - what they do with that is their business. Trad bishops and superiors are just as liberal when it comes to admitting homosexuals. Frequently in good faith - convinced the candidate is 'over it'. Once you've seen Paris you never get over it. Unless the Lord frees you - but even then our free will remains operative. Anyway - no matter what's wrong with us - we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and not absent ourselves from the assembly as Paul says - remain in the Church and in the parish, and so on. Christ is at work.

    5. So true that's why I ignore all this stuff (for the most part) and because I cannot relate nor do I want to except in the "I am a sinner part" ... that is me along with the rest of us who strive, hope, and pray to be faithful to the end.

      Thanks, Terry!
