They turned on Burke now.

"Burke throws biggest fans under the bus."

I love that expression.  Another site asks, 'is it time for Burke to turn in his man card?'  LOL!  I didn't know there was a Cardinal Burke fan club - but "fans" is the word Hilary White uses.  Says a lot about their agenda, their ideological purpose.

Nevertheless, it's a good sign - for Cardinal Burke that is.  May he lose even more 'fans' like these and only attract souls who seek to follow Jesus Christ.

"How can you believe, when you accept praise (affirmation and approval) from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?" - John 5: 31-47
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. - Matthew 5:11
You will soon be deceived if you only regard the outward show of men. - Imitation, Bk. II, Chp. 7:3
John of the Cross, quoting Isaiah wrote, "He who praises you deceives you."

Turn in your cappa!  LOL!

  1. Dear Cardinal Burke would not be dear Cardinal Burke without his cappa and whatnot. I am no longer put off by that. I like more every time I learn more about his fidelity and softness of heart.

Let them turn on him, it seems not to matter anyway ... the sun shines bright, the flowers sway sweetly and the birds praise the Lord of Life.

A wonderful day to be alive!

  2. That they would turn on Burke makes me laugh, especially because I thought his NCReg piece was right up their alley. I read the "hey, we all need to respect the pope" parts as being window dressing for the main point, which seemed to be "hey, this is sort of 'magisterial', but not 'magisterial magisterial,' if you know what I mean." I read it and thought, "now here's a guy who knows how to dissent graciously." But I guess they didn't like that. When your livelihood and reputation rest on reacting to a "crisis," under no circumstances can you allow that there is no crisis, so I guess I shouldn't expect anything else.

[I could be way wrong on my read of the Burke piece. I'm not very "in touch" these days.]

To borrow from Paul: For when one says, "I am of Burke," and another, "I am of Francis," are you not mere men?

  3. The funny thing is, it wasn't like Burke was writing a love letter to it, or acting as a cheerleader..he was just like "Calm down you fruit cakes it is not the end of times" (okay that is what I would say...) What did they expect him to do...."Francis is left wing Jesuit Elitist Anti-Pope..."

    1. Very true. But they vill not tolerate reasonableness. They demand that man card back.

    2. They've been dying to ask for his man card back since they got a look at his man lace.

    3. That really made me laugh...I am not implying anything about his sexuality, (could care less and there are many fem straight guys and masculine gay guys and everything in between and who gives a flying ...) but its not like Burke was ever Clint Eastwood...but now because he defends the Pope, he is somehow a lady???.

    4. Mack:

      1) now we all know what a Burke papacy would have been like... some people are never satisfied.

      2) There is a sort of dissebter among whom the false rumors of His Eminence's sexuality is a thing. Go figure.

  4. First the crucifixion, then the resurrection. Cardinal Burke is in good company.

  5. Maybe instead of being fans of Cardinal Burke, they could become fans of Jesus Christ. Or is that just crazy talk?
