Maybe the Pope is an anarchist?

“If we annoy people, blessed be the Lord,”
[QUAERITUR: So, young people get into the streets and act up a bit.  Is that supposed to get them jobs?  They could reach out to older people even without jobs.  But, how is "asserting themselves" going to get them work... unless he means "get off your backsides and look for jobs" and "don't be too proud to take a job that pays less because money is not your god"... I'm just asking.  In concrete terms what could he be driving at here? I don't think he is simply uttering vaguely moralistic catchphrases.] - Source
"Please do not water down your faith in Jesus Christ."

Was this part of what he said to the Argentinian Youth in Brazil? Because if it is it meant to inspire young people to not be afraid of expressing your faith in the streets. The Western World wants us to keep our faith silent and only in the churches and chapels. He wants us to be involved in the Church's causes and not be allow certain things and ideas; money, anti-Catholics, anti-Christians, relativism to make us turn away from God.

I agree that the Pope doesn't say things just to seem profound despite the profundity of his words here. I think his challenge is something we need to hear in our society at this moment.

    1. Paul - the main paragraph is a reprint from Fr. Z's comments on what the Pope said.

  2. I took it to mean taking their Faith to the streets. Maybe what the Pope said didn't translate well.

  3. I think his message is very compatible with the vision of S. Jose Maria Escriva. I also believe Bl Pier Giorgio and Bl Alberto Marvelli are good examples of what the Holy Father means by taking it to the streets. I will try to post on that.

We're to go around 'annoying' people, as if that in itself translates into holiness?
