It's so hot outside. Thoughts...

It is so hot I think the atmosphere may explode.

My plants are literally burning in the sun.

I went out front to water pots and two pit bulls on leashes came up to drink from the hose.  Their master looked like a zombie to me - and he growled at them to get away and follow him - despite the fact he was not holding their leash.  I wasn't afraid though.

It is really hot.

I have the sprinkler going in the shade garden for the birds and critters to cool themselves.

I keep thinking of the people without power or air conditioning.

This is the effects of climate change 'they' tell us...

The climate has changed, that's for sure.  I have no problem with climate change theories - just the politics of it - and the theories which go along with that to end population growth and oppress people and regulate existence by Godless people.

I'm not going to do fireworks this year - I'll wait for the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel to use them instead.  Neapolitans do that too.

Pray to Our Lady.

The Fortnight is over, but I never heard much attention paid to Our Lady throughout the past two weeks.  The Blessed Virgin is the patroness of our country, she is Mediatrix of All Grace, Co-Redmptrix, Queen of All Nations, Queen of the World.  Now the Fortnight is over, but I haven't heard much attention paid to Our Lady.  No 'entrustments', no 'consecrations', no rosary crusades or novenas.  Are we Catholics?  Or not?

Pray to Our Lady.

  1. Terry: I have been keeping the beads going mon frere. Sad to say but I think some of our Shepherds are embarrased by the rosary. This might explain how we got ourselves into this fix. What irony. It is our most powerful weapon. One of the reasons I love the Dominicans, among many, is their intercessory prayer at Mass, which always remembers those who are hurt by the heat--the elderly, the infirm. I think of the homeless--having been homeless myself. I can't imagine how people are suffering. They remeber the workers.

I now have a/c. It went back on Sun after being out for two days. But while it was out, the hotter it got, the more rosaries I prayed, begging her intercession. I pray the rosary every day--after Mass and elsewhere. I miss Mass a few days here and there but I am so devoted to the rosary. Remember when I asked you about the rosary--when I was newishly "converted"? You told me she would teach me everything. How right you were...You'll like this:

  2. I'm trying to finish a couple of rosaries I started making awhile ago. And I found some really beautiful beads!

  3. I haven't commented on your posts before, so you won't know me, but I have recently started reading them. Just felt compelled to respond, as I'm newly consecrated to Mary, as of 27 June, or the feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Seemed a fitting day, some sort of resonance with me, I'm sure I need perpetual help, ha! Anyway, just thought I'd share, in case it helps! :]

    1. Thanks M - I'm happy you made the consecration, I did so many years ago, and Our Lady is indeed the Perpetual Help.

  4. I went to the Fortnight program last week at UST on "Religious Liberty and the Equality of Women" with presentations by three UST female professors.

200-250 in attendance, SRO, mostly young women. Very, I repeat, very pro-life presentations, some mention of the Blessed Mother.

The presentations were taped and are supposed to be available on the website of the "Siena Symposium", on the St. Paul Seminary's website.

    But they're not there yet.

  5. I think Maria is right about some of our shepherds being embarrassed by the Rosary. The only "Rosary Crusade" I heard anything about was from the SSPX and I joined in both. I've been praying as many extra rosaries as possible. I keep telling people that if they pray the rosary every day it will change their lives but I'm sure they believe me. It changed my life.

    1. I think they are still much too concerned about protestants.

Amen! Pray the rosary every day. Blessed Mother, Our Lady of the Americas, and Mediatrix of all graces, ora pro nobis. Amen.
