Why would you support that? It's a clear violation of the Constitution? Obama is quickly moving toward totalitarianism. If he can violate the constitution about this, what makes us think he won't do it about other things. This will lead to nothing but evil. To support this is foolish and, in my opinion, sinful.
Aloysius - I didn't say I support it. I'm just making fun of the Biden statement and the panic that could ensue. Gun stores have been selling out - guns and ammunition is flying off the shelves. There are some people in this country arming for a revolution - it's bigger than mere self-defense.
If the President over steps the Constitution the United States has a legislative branch and a judicial branch to stop him - he was voted in and he can be voted out.
I should have proofread before hitting the publish Any hoo this is what i wanted to say.
If the president wants to change the consitutional right of you americans to bear arms, shouldn't he have a plebiscite or follow whatever procedure there is to amend your constitution. He could have a legitimate argument to curb the right which reads:
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed
Now, at the time that the ammendament was written, the US was a very young country and the fledgling government didn't have the wherewithal to outfit, let alone, arm an army so that it made sense to just let the citizens outfit themselves. But in this day your government has regular militia (your 5 branched military- army, navy, marine, air force and national guard) and it maintains them in uniforms and arms, so the amendment could be ammended as no longer being necessary. In short the raison d'etre no longer exists.
Having said that, the president cannot ammend the constitution with an executive order. Or am I wrong? Wouldn't that be unconstitutional? Wouldn't a plebiscite or A referndum be necessary as well as each state ratifying the ammendment of the amendment?
Then again what do I know, we Canadians do not have the right to bear arms.
Terry, thanks for your clarification. I misread the title of the post. I thought it said "Woo-hoo!" which has a positive connotation, instead of "Woh-oh!" which has a more negative connotation. My bad. Mea Culpa!
The right to life trumps the right to bear arms Aloysius, and the 2nd Amendment is not one of the Ten Commandments. There are many things about the Obama administration that point to evil, but reining in the gun lobby isn't one of them.

Show us your face and we shall be saved. "Each soul is the object of My special love. That is why I am so grateful to those who are resourceful and bringing back sinners to Me. Keep this in mind then. I gave My life for them in the most atrocious torture, for these poor beloved ones. A humble repentance, and they are already on My heart. So speak gently to them. Speak with tenderness. A brusque remark could drive them farther away." - He and I
I know of many controversial issues which would be noteworthy. Forgive me ... but what would he be giving an executive order about?
