Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Since 'they' insist that icons are 'written', I do not need to write anything today.  Read your icons, class.

  1. I read mine last night. We had a vigil liturgy.

  2. Echoing the 2nd Reading today, a little something from TSEliot via Heraclitus: 'The way up is the way down.' This is also the beginning of the long Lent for some monastics. Big blessings, TJ!

  3. I see the letter 't' in the icon. T is for Trust. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.

  5. Every reference I've found to "writing" icons goes to Russia. I haven't found nor been directed to any with another source. When I tell people that's because Russia didn't have a separate word for painting because they had no art but iconography until Peter the Great, it's news to them.
