For the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel...

Carmine Madonna*
Terry Nelson
2012
Acrylic on canvas panel
11x14

I think I will give this painting away.  It is now lavishly framed in a baroque black wooden frame with subtle gold ornament (not shown)

Anybody want it?

Tell me why in the combox or via email.  Our Lady will choose and the recipient will be announced within the octave.

[Due to shipping costs, you must be in the United States or Canada.]

Happy feast day!

  1. Feel free not to post this as a surprise to her--but I bet Joyce would LOVE to own this.

  4. Nan took the words out of my mouth.

I would want it for my tween darlings to look at every day as they leave for school and it would great them when they come home. She would keep me company during the day while my loves are away.

I'd be happy with a color copy and I'd frame it up pretty. But I feel that way about most of your art.

  5. If you would donate it at my parish, it will be enshrined in our chapel. We are collecting different statues or framed paintings of our Lady and we placed them at the sanctuary (near the altar) during the feast day for veneration.

  6. I would send it to Tara (Loved Sinner blog) to give her strength as her husband recovers.

  7. I don't feel like I deserve it...it is really a wonderful, heart-felt painting Terry - Our Lady loves you very, very much.
I think this so beautifully is the fruit of your prayers. Thank you for letting us see it.

Anyway. Our Lady intended it for you. She really did. I'm pleased with her choice. I wish I had a copy for everyone else too.

      Happy feast day.

I start my day by reading your blog, and I end my day by reading your blog. You have just provided another reason why I do this. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your life, Terry. Thank you very much for all that you do. May God bless and keep you all of your days.

  9. Beautiful painting, Terry. I would give it to my mom - it's her birthday today and she has a particular devotion to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Plus she's dealing with a botched cataract surgery so she could really use the graces. Oh, and I'm in Minneapolis so you'd save on shipping costs! I enjoy your blog and the perspective you bring. God bless you and the work you do.

  10. Happy Feast of Our Queen Beauty of Carmel!
I think Fr. Gary trumped any of my selfish reasons for wanting your lovely painting. God reward you for such an open and generous heart!
