The Grammy's

REHAB - Amy Winehouse won big!

Even though the song cracks me up - and she does too - I really like it a lot. I'm guessing she will probably die young if rehab doesn't work. God help her.

  1. I was just thinking what an unfortunate use of the word "cracks" when applied to someone with a propensity to use and abuse illegal narcotics.

    Hope rehab works for her.

Yay for Amy! She is incredibly talented even if she spends 23 and a half hours a day completely wasted. She has a cool name too - the same as my daughter's.

Saw her this am on tivo---unique, I hope she's okay.

Is Alicia Keyes unbelievable? I have her "No One" set as my cell phone ring tone----that embarrasses the children, but really, if I could sing, that'd be me singing those exact words to God---when I tell the children that, they really think I'm crazy. :>

And the Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli duet---beautiful.

  6. Jackie - I like Robbie very much. I'm serious about liking Amy too.

SF - Alicia Keyes was fantastic, although I really wanted Mary J. to win - got a soft spot for her.

Tom - I see the irony - I'm praying for her.

Deb - I think she may have been doing something when she was on last night - she is such a talent - I hope the drugs do not get the best of her.

Rhaps - I'll check it out! Thanks.

  9. As a hometown thing, I would've liked to hear the Time actually do an entire song before they were pushed to the side by Rihanna. So much for a reunion. Blah!

Alica Keys rocked and so did the Groban/Bocelli duet. Also was surprised that Rhapsody in Blue wasn't chopped to 15 seconds!

  10. I know Rhapsody in Blue was well done! I was disapointed how the Time was cut short too.

    The Gospel music was great.

  11. Who the hell is Amy Winehouse? How come she can't get a visa to get into the United States?

Is that a requirement for awards these days?

Remember the Oscar winning child molester, Polanski, who hasn't been in the U.S. since the 80s or so because of his dalliance with a 14 (or so) year old girl? He'd be arrested and do some hard time, that's why.

I wonder how popular he would have been with Hollywood had he been a priest?

Ray, I had to look Winehouse up on Wiki cuz I didnt' know who she was, either. There I found a couple samples of her music. To me, she sounds like the black women singers from the 50s and 60s. I guess that's her schtick. She has a cool look, and a very strong voice, but not my type of music. I look at her and expect to hear something like the B-52s and instead get Aretha Franklin--ick.

  13. Georgette - I loved the B-52's and Aretha. What's wrong with me? LOL!

Nothing wrong with ya, Ter, your musical tastes are more universal/eclectic, is all. I'm just still stuck in my college days.
