I'm very happy to have the somewhat wimpy winters we Michiganders have, thank you very much. It's worse than Missouri, but better than Minnesota and Idaho!
My son just returned to Mpls. from St. Louis for a college visit- it was 60 degrees there on Monday. St. Louis U. is looking REALLY good at this point!
When I lived in western Pa we had a lot of snow and temps regularly like that. Sometimes it was so deep one had to climb out the second floor window , make a tunnel to the ground and then dig your way to the front door...sometimes it was so cold the flame on my zippo froze [wink !]
Great picture to illustrate the temperature outside ... this AM saw my son off to a camp for 3-days ... keep him & his classmates in your prayers ... its going to be cold up North ...
You win - LOL! It was 10 degrees this morning ( -5 if you count the windchill) and we're expecting our 2nd snow of the year tonight & all day Thursday. They're calling for 6+ inches & everyone's freaking out. I have to laugh, 'cuz I used to live in Rapid City where signs on the highway read "don't crowd the plow" and snowdrifts topped the overpasses. Now THAT was hell!
Terry, you need to tell Jeron what the temps were with the wind chill! It was somewhere in the -40 realm. 43 above one day and -40 (with wind chill) the next. My brain is too frozen to remember why it was I moved back here.
