Teach us to pray.

Today's Gospel

Very simple instructions on how to pray.  Very simple.

After all of the books and teachings that have come to us - it is very simple.  It is about love and a Father who so loved the world...

O my God, Trinity whom I adore, help me forget myself entirely so to establish myself in you, unmovable and peaceful as if my soul were already in eternity. May nothing be able to trouble my peace or make me leave you, O my unchanging God, but may each minute bring me more deeply into your mystery! Grant my soul peace. Make it your heaven, your beloved dwelling and the place of your rest. May I never abandon you there, but may I be there, whole and entire, completely vigilant in my faith, entirely adoring, and wholly given over to your creative action. - St. Elizabeth of the Trinity

"O my God, You are in me and I am in You. I have found my heaven on earth, since heaven is You, O Lord, and You are in my soul. I can find You there always; even when I do not feel Your presence, You are there nevertheless, and I like to seek You there. Oh! if only I could never leave You alone!" (cf. Sr Elizabeth of the Trinity, Letters)

  1. Thank you Terry. You share insight & inspiration I find nowhere else. Last week as I was stargazing, as I often do, the thought came to me that every star, and there were millions, was an Angel. Then a departed soul, some I knew & loved. I was hopeful for the first time in awhile. God will never abandon us. Just look up.
