Cardinal Raymond Burke leaving the church of St. Dunstan's in Canterbury, England,
after praying at the burial place of the relic of the head of St. Thomas More, Oct. 15, 2017.
Story here.
I think Cardinal Burke really likes drama. He has a gift for theatrics. Just an observation - not a criticism.
What?
PR and piety. What a terrible combination.

ReplyDeletePR as in "praying recluse" is our beloved Papa Benny. No fuss, no drama, no fanfare.
DeleteTerry,
DeleteI hope you check this out in honor of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. I know Cardinal Burke would admire its beauty.
A nun spent 16 years painting the stunning Celtic mural that covers the interior of this WWI memorial.

DeleteYes, it is stunning. The website is a treasure trove of many interesting articles covering all the arts, walks off the beaten paths and so much more. I hope you continue to visit it dear WH. ^^
DeleteYou're correct, and I'm trying not to look at this too nefariously. You drove me back here again, and I missed it! By the way, has anyone mentioned to you that your posts on Blogger sound an awful lot like your posts on Facebook? ;-)
ReplyDeleteHaha! They sound alike because they are both from the same person. I saw your Facebook post on dead blogs - but I keep blogging. Why? I dunno.
DeleteI am friends with Cardinal Burke and speak with him regularly, and I can't think of someone more opposed to drama and theatrics. He is very humble and ALWAYS puts the focus of Jesus. Always. I think the ones who like drama are the ones who ascribe symbolism to a simple act of devotion. The Cardinal was in that town for another event and decided to stop by and pray. It's that simple.
