I missed him too. That freedom line surprised me. When he was in power I thought that was just rhetoric to help us cope with loss of lives in the wars. I think he was being sincere now. I remember his father saying how he read the whole Bible and that this verse from Isaiah meant something to him: 6 Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?
Thank you Adrienne. He was refreshing to listen to this morning instead of the usual from the current President. I had the feeling that the old integrity that we used to take for granted may well be a thing of the past unless we wake up. Many made fun of Bush but no one can deny that he was a President who loved this country and who stood for Judeo Christian values. BTW he has a rosary that he expressed great gratitude for-maybe he doesn't pray it but he values what it stands for....

The Pharaohs used to build pyramids. Wouldn't it be great to have a president one day who foreswore such arrogance?
