Necessary Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
.
Ven. Matt Talbot. (
Bio) Matt Talbot exemplified the heroic virtue of temperance. He practiced the Christian life more or less as a solitary, although he was a member of the third order of St. Francis. The spiritual combat Talbot engaged in was associated with alcoholism, which in his case demanded the renunciation of a behavior, as well as an adjustment in lifestyle.

So beautiful! Is this recent or something you're just getting around to sharing with us?
ReplyDeleteSuperb! It would look great as an icon on my mantle right next to Saint Maximillian Kolbe.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think "non-Saints" were to have a 'halo' (there is a proper name which I can't remember at this point) behind their heads? I may be wrong though.
ReplyDeleteNan - I painted it in the late '90's I think.
ReplyDeleteBob - thanks!
CWA - This isn't liturgical art.
I *love* this! God has given you quite a gift, and the Holy Spirit is shining through your art. Keep up the great work. Venerable Matt Talbot, pray for us!
ReplyDeleteHi Terry, I saw this painting of yours unattributed and said, boyo, you gotta fix that, so now, in the comments there, there's a link here. God bless.
