St. Joseph the (migrant) worker.

Saint Joseph and Immigrants
.
We recommend immigrants to Saint Joseph. He knows their struggles. He knows their anxieties, their hardships, and the fears. Saint Joseph was, after all, an immigrant in Egypt. He arrived there, in a strange land, with his Virgin Spouse and her Infant Son. He had to find housing, to look for work, to endure the suspicion, the prejudice, and the slights that are the lot of immigrants in every time and place. - Vultus Christi

Fr. Mark has posted beautifully on St. Joseph for his feastday this May 1.

  1. Happy feast day, Terry, and all of you!
It is our Br. Joseph Francis of Jesus-Mary's anniversary of his final profession today, as well.
Please say a prayer for him; he's a holy Brother.
And prayers for the immigrants, as well from here.
I have an icon of the "Flight into Egypt"...a true reminder that we are all pilgrims on this earth and that the Heavenly Father loves and cares for each and every one of us.

Lovely point you make, Ter. God bless you.

Father Nazareth, I will keep your Br. Joseph in my prayers today as well. May God bless him in his vocation.

And for all those who are unemployed, and underemployed, and those seeking potentional projects (as our case this day): St Joseph the Worker, ora pro nobis.

  3. Saint Joseph was an immigrant.

Much different from an illegal alien.

    Breaking laws is sinful.

In my family, we tell our Catholic Mexican brothers they are sinning when here illegally. They are told to go to cofession with this, and do what the Padre says.

I strongly doubt Saint Joseph would help willful sinners.

I advocate re-instituting the Bracero Program. Here legally.

May God our Lord in His infinite and supreme goodness be pleased to give us His abundant grace, that we may know His most holy will, and entirely fulfill it.

Santa MarĂa de Guadalupe Esperanza nuestra, salva nuestra patria y conserva nuestra Fe.
