More on the traitorous Fort Hood Gunman

Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the gunman who killed 13 at America's Fort Hood military base, once gave a lecture to other doctors in which he said non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats.
.
The fanatic also told colleagues at America's top military hospital that non-Muslims were infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire. The outburst came during an hour-long talk Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, gave on the Koran in front of dozens of other doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington DC, where he worked for six years before arriving at Fort Hood in July.

One Army doctor who knew him said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim soldier had stopped fellow officers from filing formal complaints. - Source

Muslims in New York celebrate the deaths of Americans in the Fort Hood jihad.

I chose the image of St. James (Santiago), who is credited with miraculously driving out the Moors from Spain, to indicate that what we are involved in - like it or not - is indeed a Holy War - similar to every other onslaught of Islam against Western Civilization and Christianity.  Only this time Western Civilization has indiscriminately welcomed them in.

  2. Evil always has the long-game in mind. This guy may have joined the army in 1997, but so what (from the article M Bayly linked to). al-Qaeda was planning 9/11 years before they executed the plan. There are sleeper cells in the US. They practice incrementalism as well as any seasoned liberal.

Our culture is immersed in the swamp of avoiding difficult issues - such as Islamic fundamentalism, and sin, and evil - to such a point that there is very little talk, if any, of personal responsibility and existence of sin and the reality of evil.

Unless, of course, the issue is "right-wing Christian fundalmentalists" who "kill abortionists", or "discriminate against gays", or "hate women". In that case, we're accused of the most mortal of sins, intolerance.

I say B.S. We're in a war - spiritual, ideological, religious - and we may be facing another Lepanto in our life time, on our soil.

The question then becomes - does anyone have the will to fight it, or have we become complacent due to political correctedness, selfish behavior and a numbing sense of entitlement?

  3. Sorry, Larry, but you sound as extreme and unbalanced as the Islamic fundamentalists you're denouncing. It's all rather unbecoming for a follower of the "Prince of Peace."

David Brooks addresses some of your legitimate concerns, but in an altogether more reasoned way.

    Peace,

    Michael
