Today is the feast of St. Symeon the Stylite.
His pillar was located outside modern day Aleppo, Syria.
Pray for the martyrs and kidnapped and tortured and raped and those fleeing the atrocities committed by ISIS in Syria and elsewhere.
St. Symeon, pray for us.
What a beauty that pillar is. I am reminded of the very old Church located in the small town of Magdalena, Sonora where my grandparents lived and where I spent a good many years as a child. I hope our brothers and sisters will remember the beauty of God in their most trying moments and find peace and solace.
