See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. - James 5:7

It is working and Catholic bloggers are helping.

The headlines that Pope Francis is a Marxist ... that he endorses Liberation Theology ...

It's a lie.  You are readily and easily deceived.

Catholic bloggers and the Catholic tabloid sites which buy into these stories and then repeat them on their sites foment doubt amongst the faithful.  You love conspiracy theories and buy into what media is feeding you.   You complain about secular media being anti-Catholic, and then suck up the stories of what the Pope supposedly said - which clearly counters Catholic teaching - and you aid in spreading confusion in the Church.

So many of people online will believe dubious mystics and self appointed priests and prophets and yet reject Papal Supremacy when it comes to Pope Francis.

What folly.

  1. Oh Terry, you are so right. I am absolutely appalled at the things that I see Catholic bloggers write about Pope Francis. Because Pope Francis cares about the poor and sees great inequality in our system, he is a Marxist. The more conservative and right wing the bloggers and the more they declare themselves "loyal sons of the Church," the more they seem to attack the Pope. What is going on?

There is no doubt in my mind that these same bloggers would also declare Jesus Christ a Marxist if He was walking the earth today.

  2. BTW, did you see this over at Rorate Coeli:

"Third Secret of Fatima was truly written by Sister Lucia, says first researcher to examine document"

What is Father Gruner and his whole crew going to do? Keep calling the Vatican a bunch of liars? Sigh.

    1. I did see that - they are claiming there is a missing page and a missing signature now. Amazing.

  3. "But when the Son of man returns, will He find any faith on the earth?"
You can exit the church stage left or stage right. The Devil doesn't care which way you leave, just so that you leave. Great post, Fr. John Mary

  5. It's as if the Faith is bound up with the Particular Person of the Pope. Perhaps we're being pruned.

  6. Be happy and joyful goes a long way...even in the deep and cold winter months. I want the joyful witness of mi querido Papa Francisco...that joy can only come from our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

    Now for some amusing news...

  7. Is anyone actually influenced by Catholic bloggers?

My experience that those who read blogs are only looking for affirmation of what they already think.

    1. I think you are absolutely correct - found that out about myself with the post I did on the Beatles. Seeking affirmation and praise - such a trap I fall into all of the time.

Thanks for being so honest all of the time.
