Okay. Here's one: If Cardinal Burke becomes Pope....

I bet he keeps his name and will be known as Leo XIV.

Bonus bets:
  • He will elevate the Wisconsin Shrine of OL of Guadalupe to Basilica - if it isn't already - if it is, he will grant it special indulgences.
  • He will give papal approval to Our Lady of America apparitions.
  • He will be the first Pope since the Council to publicly celebrate the Extraordinary Form in St. Peter's - after his coronation of course.
  • He will raise Courage Apostolate to universal status or give papal endorsement - or something like that.  And members will get to wear capes and feathered hats.
  • He will renew devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
  • He'll do a lot.
I love the Pope, no matter who he is.

Maybe not Turkson though.

  1. Can't happen; all the visionaries describe a bishop in white, not in gold.

If the Couture Wing of the Church wins this one, their pope will call himself Gammarelli the First, the sedia gestatoria will be beatified, the galero will be sent to Bernard Fellay when he's named Patriarch of Econe, catholic bloggers (except Shea) will get to wear red shoes (the ones who don't already, that is), Mitch Pacwa will find himself out of a job when EWTN is renamed ZWTN, Betty White will guest host The World Over, Cardinal Siri's papacy will finally cease, and the tiara, equipped with blinking LED lights, will be declared infallible.

And Turkson will be named first Bishop of Mars.

  2. I better add this: I highly doubt Burke or any other Anerican will become pope - but I was wrong about the 3/13/13 date as well.

  3. He will not cater to the SSPX, however. And, he will publish the judgement against Medjugorje.

  4. If he becomes Pope, I'll have to learn how to pronounce "schadenfreude".

  5. OLOA I dont think anyone will touch not because it's not authentic, but because the community there is a little nutso.

Michael Voris also said Leo XIV.... are you on a boat right now????

Cliff Clavin: There's an OLOG Shrine near Chicago that gets about 10 times the visitors that the La Crosse one gets. Hard to figure how they'll keep that La Crosse one goin.
