Oh Canada! Supreme Court rules Biblical speech condemning homosexual behavior is hate speech.

“The ruling and the reasoning [of the court] is terrible, they actually used the concept that truth is not a defense.”
Ottawa, Ontario – The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that Biblical speech opposing homosexual behavior, including in written form, is essentially a hate crime.
On Wednesday, the court upheld the conviction of activist William Whatcott, who found himself in hot water after distributing flyers regarding the Bible’s prohibitions against homosexuality throughout the Saskatoon and Regina neighborhoods in 2001 and 2002.

The Supreme Court of Canada declared Wednesday that oftentimes, it is impossible to say that one loves the sinner and hates the sin. It asserted that the hatred of the act was inseparable from hating the person or person group.  (There is the catch.)

While speech opposing homosexuality remains legal in the United States, some note that the nation is heading in the same direction as Canada, as discrimination laws are being enforced by state Human Rights Commissions across the country.

A number of incidents have made headlines in recent years where American businesses have been punished for their refusal to accommodate the homosexual lifestyle, such as the story of a photographer in New Mexico that was forced to pay $700 in fines for declining to shoot a same-sex commitment service, to the Vermont bed and breakfast owners who settled a lawsuit with two lesbians who were told by an employee that they could not hold their commitment service on the property. A Kentucky t-shirt screening company was also recently punished for declining to complete a work order involving t-shirts that were to be worn at a local homosexual pride parade. - Finish reading here.

Coming to a Supreme Court near you.

So when I can't pay the fines, will I be put in prison?  Or executed?  I'd rather be executed.

  1. Sounds like we will have to start performing duties similar to what happened in Schindler's List. Do a job that is substandard. They can still sue us ... but it won't be a 'hate' crime.

Well, at least not until they put together enough information for it to be termed as one.

  2. The biggest mistake Canada ever did was entrench the charter of Rights and Freedoms into the Constitution. We exascerbated the problem by drafting the darn Charter in the 80s. It was a stupid time to make a document for the ages. They took things that sounded great at the time and now the courts have taken into their heads that they need to protect those whom they consider to be vunerable most especially when they are vulnerable in the light of the truth of the matter: henceforth truth is not a defence.

    1. Because of Pierre Trudeau, whose laughably under-qualified son is being media-rocketed into the position of next Prime Minister. Things will just get better then.

      That last sentence was sarcasm.

  4. The opposition to gay marriage is just part of a bigger issue: “the culture war” in the U.S. to take control of the country away from the Christian majority, (democracy) and give it to an elite, anti-Christian, “secular”, minority (Bolshevism). This is being done by local, state and federal governments passing laws that are opposed to the majority’s Christian values, and by judges overruling the vote and will of the people, the majority of whom are Christian. This culture war is a Fabian Revolution, changing the governments in the country from pro-Christian democracies to anti-Christian, Bolshevik, oligarchies. Laws of the land have become anti-Christian. Prayers to God in Jesus name, once celebrated in public schools and government offices, are now prohibited by law. Laws which once were anti-pornography, are now pro-pornography; once anti-homosexual, now pro-homosexual; once anti-abortion, now pro-abortion, and the governments, once “Under God”, are now “Secular,” Anti-God, and Anti-Christ.
Some Americans understand what is happening, but most Americans have not put this all together intellectually, however they sense it in their gut. They have been blinded to what is going on by the sly, gradual replacement of the Christian perspective of right and wrong in “secular” public schools, and the Leftist Media, with the more “compassionate “ perspective of progressive Liberalism. Never the less, they have the sense that – something is terribly wrong! And this is the root of the passionate opposition to Homosexual Marriage.
