She was one of the funniest female comedians ever...



Outrageous for her time, she was also the first female stand-up to become a celebrity in her own right.

Rest in peace.

  4. The first joke I can remember was from Phyllis. "Fang and I were just at a costume party and I went practically in the nude. All I wore was a white fuzzy hat and white fuzzy slippers...I went as a Q-Tip.

    I still giggle at that joke and I must have been no more than 3 or 4 years old when I heard it on television.

    1. My favorite was their first Thanksgiving - she didn't know how to cook and was trying to dress the turkey - in clothes. Still cracks me up.

  5. she's a legend here in st. louis, having lived here in the 60's and performing for years in gaslight square. she often said st. louis was always home to her.
