The Polish Martyrs

108 Martyrs

June 12 is their feast day - they are just one group of many martyrs from WWII and beyond.

The Nazis beheaded many.  I didn't realize that.

The 20th century was filled with numerous martyrs.

The martyrdoms continue into this century.

We are not worthy of them.

We do not change.

What is coming?

  1. What is coming?

I remember reading this regarding what Anne Catherine Emmerich said regarding the Church of HER TIME:

....She describes the nature, extent and power of victim souls, and their role in the life of the Church. She describes the condition of St. Lydwine of Schiedam, a victim soul during the time of “three popes,” and how her body came apart into three pieces, joined only by the slenderest of sinews. She saw only 6 victim souls in her time working like herself on behalf of the Universal Church, and about 100,000 Catholic people worldwide who were great in their faith...

I remember the 6 victim souls and 100,000 Catholic people worldwide who were "great in their faith" jumping out at me.

  2. I think all of the holy martyrs have helped prepare for a time to come after the chastisement and purification for the era of peace promised by Our Lady at Fatima.

You are right we are not worthy of them. They are a great gift a great grace from GOD with their shining examples of authentic, genuine faith. Something that I fear would be lacking for the most part in our own times if we were called to martyrdom. The difference is that most of them (Catholics) from their time knew their faith and believed it in comparison to our own times.
