Quick sayings...

All good ideas for mugs or bumper stickers...

"Youth is wasted on the young."

"Education is wasted on youth."

"Did you send your kids to expensive universities to learn or to earn?"

"Hey Whitey!"

"What?"

Disclaimer:  No seminarians, priest or bishops are picked on in this post.  Though I did not mention it, I am against abortion and same sex marriage.  I do not prize the life or well being of animals over human life.  I am not picking on any blogger in this post.  "Whitey" is a quote from Caddy Shack and it refers to the colour of a character's hair. - it is not a racist comment.  I thought this stuff up while doing yard work.  BTW - new Blogger kind of sucks - stuff doesn't print, comments don't post - what up with that?

  3. "hey whitey"....

You know, I teach a lot of Latin Americans , and they think it is HILARIOUS that Americans avoid calling strangers by their personal appearance.

It's not uncommon to have someone say "hey black guy," "hey white guy", "hey fat man", or my favorite, "gordita" - little plump girl/woman.

And on top of that, they call all Asian-looking people "Chinamen" and all Middle Easterners "Turks". And no one would ever get offended by any of it.

It's the same in the Middle East, China, or anywhere else but the countries of the West, where we were stupid enough to invent political correctness and the official culture of offense and grievance, particularly where limousine liberal white people get offended on behalf of others.

  5. Mercury you are so on target. I really have difficulty dealing with political correctness. There used to be these chocolate covered marshmallow creme like cookies in Germany that were called "negerkuesse"...and suddenly they became "mohrenkopfe". we have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves or as we see ourselves and each other. we've lost the ability to own in ourselves not just what we perceive to be positive but also the negative and to be able to laugh about it. I'm not offended by wriggling hula girls on dashboards, or people mimicking the hula or saying to me "my favorite hawaiian name is Kamanawanaleia" I have a friend how had to get rid of his grandma's mammy figurine collection in her kitchen after she died because they were so offensive to others. Where does it all end?

    1. Actually, when I was there, the word "Mohrenkopf" was also un-PC, and they were called "Schokoküsse" on the box.

    2. That's funny. when i was there last fall I called them "negerkuesse"... Youre right they are called "Schokokuesse" now. I wonder if they will laugh at all of this silliness 100 years from now?

    3. They'll be a minority in the Turkish province of Almanya 100 years from now. And it would have been their own fault. So, maybe no laughing?

    4. You're right about that. It makes me sad to think that but I think it's true.

  6. When I was in high school - not too long ago BTW - I loved it when black girls referred to slutty white girls as "white panties".

I always thought being called Honky, cracker and other such names meant someone was cool - kind of a 'brotha' - you know.

Fasten your seat belt. It makes it harder for the aliens to suck you out of your car.
