Just a comment...

Hilary kinda looks like an old Soviet commandante in this photo.

  1. I don't know about the Soviet bit, but she is looking significantly older since becoming Secretary of State; but then, old age catches up with most of us, eventually.

  2. I also think she is very tired - at least she says as much and I think it is true.

  3. It's hard to rock a ponytail in your sixties.

  4. I didn't even know that was her, to tell you the truth.

Frankly, I think she's better-looking in the past decade or so than she was as First Lady.

She always looks like a hot mess; a total embarrassment.

I'm an expat who says a plague on both the Democrats and Republicans, but at least Condalezza Rice was a well groomed and professional looking Secretary of State.

  7. Just wondering, why do we not care how guys in public positions look? Maybe because it doesn't matter?
Funny how it seems to matter a lot more when it's a woman.

  8. Blokes still cop it a little bit. Mitt Romney has been said to look like a guy in a toothpaste ad and stuff like that. As long as it doesn't get nasty, it's usually pretty funny.

@Melody K: maybe it's because most males in public positions don't look like they just rolled out of bed and dressed in the dark.

  14. Don't kid yourselves, especially you, Terry. Any of these top level people have killer jobs, and Hilary Clinton surely knew that when she signed on for the job of Secretary of State. Regardless of personal politics, it is easy to see Hilary and others at the top visibly age and quickly before our eyes.

President Obama has gray hair now, Pope Benedict has gotten shaky and needs to be wheeled in for big Masses. Regardless of perks, these people give up their own lives for their work.

  15. I used to be in Protocol at Andrews when she was 1st Lady. She was guest speaker at one of the ceremonies I had to coordinate and she showed up on my red carpet wearing a powder pink suit, white sparkly nylons, and football-helmet hair - oy! She looked best as a Senator, but this is a new low. Chalk it up to being tired. I just dont. get. the. hair. And as for men, who did it better than Tony Blakely?! (RIP).
