Notification

Doesn't that sound so official and serious?

However, this is just a few notes about the blog and social networking stuff.

Since I was offline for about a week I haven't been able to catch up on emails and Thanksgiving greetings - but I want you to know I know you know that I received them and just haven't bothered to answer them using the excuse that I haven't been able to catch up yet.  Did you get that?

I also updated my links awhile back - I took down links to blogs which appeared to be no longer active - that means they weren't updated for the past 6 months to a year or that they no longer read/comment on my blog.  I noted one guy just started updating again but he dropped me, evidently because I must have said something offensive regarding certain aspects of homosexual culture and/or behavior.  I realized this while reading his post on why he dropped some of his links - proving that gays just want to be guys - so don't say anything about them holding onto their gayness - something like that.

As a friendly reminder: From time to time I have dropped other blogs whose authors have dropped me because they don't want to tarnish their reputations they themselves are either trying to mold, establish, or rebuild.  I'm sure there are other reasons as well, but I assure you no offense taken here.  I know who you are however, and I know what you did.

BTW.  Is adopting a British accent by an American pretentious?  Affected?  Or just unavoidable?  Was Holly Golightly a real phony?

That said, it's a curious little culture this social networking stuff, isn't it.

I was going someplace with all of this, but I forgot where.

  3. "I know who you are however, and I know what you did." lol "tweak." Comments like that, Terry, remind me of that video you posted a while back of the monkey yanking on the dog's tail & running away.

I love it when you yank tails.

  4. I'm glad to see I did not get cut from your imprimatur of blogs/web sites.

I went into a cave the other day in the blogosphere and saw a post called:

    Balls forbidden in Canadian school.

I commented that should not be newsworthy as American women have been taking their husbands balls away from them for years.

They did not see humor in this.

I guess that happens when Catholics live in a cave too long.

One thing about this blog, it has a sense of humor.

Hi. I've actually adopted a Minnesota accent, specifically from the region of Stillwater, but I've never been to MN, I live in gallipolis, Ohio. Hope that isn't too pretentious.

  7. Sue - I always speak with a French accent, but I'm really pretentious.

Madonna faked a Stillwater accent when she was married to Guy, although it sounded more British to me.

  8. Pablo - that was pretty damn funny.

Terry - my English teacher in high school, a LaSallian Christian Brother, had an affected accent. At the time I thought he was from England or something, but I found out he was from Dallas. He was also about 400 lbs, but I think it was a medical problem. Anyway, now that I think of it, he sounded a lot like William F. Buckley.

He passed on about 5 years ago. God rest his soul - he was one if the best teachers I ever had, and he introduced me to Charles Dickens and Jonathan Swift. God rest his soul.

Btw, speaking of accents, anyone ever hear a talk by Dr. Brandt Pitre? South-Central Louisiana 100%, and a great biblical scholar, too.

  9. This reminds me...

I once had a "Blogrolling" blogroll. I had no idea they went under and that the blogroll had disappeared. I once used it to check on blogs and now I use a reader. I looked at when the lights went out at "Blogrolling" and it was some months - LOL.

Blogger now has a feature which renders such third party tools unnecessary. I just need to get in there and build it again. But I had a really tall list. I suppose I need to just add a few each week and build it back up that way.

My main computer is in the shop for warranty work and it has been a slow pain trying to do much from this netbook. If I find time later, I will try to start rebuilding that.
