I took an extended blogging break.
It is amazing how liberating it feels to be offline and off the news feeds. Amazing.
It has been a retreat really, and my only occupation has been painting. I'm just about finished - just a few 'tweets' to add to the composition. The painting is loaded with symbols.
I'm unable to read all of my emails and comments right now - but in the next few days I'll try to address those which need a reply.
Being offline and working on the painting has helped to confirm some of what I have written regarding blogging, the Internet, and the trend of living one's life online.
I'll be back shortly.

Your sabbatical seemed unnanounced, so I suppose I wasn't the only one worried about you. I thought you might have been working on a masterpiece - and I know how labor-intensive it can be to poke holes in a holiday canvas for those littile LED lights, to get that Kincadian effect. (lol, just kidding) Seriously, - your fans love you - and will worry about you too.

ReplyDeleteBoy, you got this one right. It's good to take a break now and then. My slow-down has been facilitated by my main computer throwing a nutty and finally having to take it in about 10 days ago. The netbook works too slow and the keyboard is annoying to me, so I just haven't gotten online as much and pretty much limited my time to reading tweets and retweeting. I've done very little posting.
It makes me quite disappointed when I look back at the day and see how much time I spent on online stuff versus how much time I spent reading Scripture or the saints. Just one more thing to carefully moderate.
Pablo, that was a Conga line. I went to afternoon Mass yesterday and the line was still two pews long; it had begun at the center, so was four pews long when Confession began. I got lucky last time and went about 15 min before the end of a daily confession and there was no line. Rare occurrence at my parish.
