Try to enter the narrow way...

Abba Matoes said that three old men went to Abba Paphnutius, who was called Cephalus, to ask a word from him. The old man said to them, 'What do you want me to say to you? A spiritual word, or a bodily word?' They said, 'A spiritual word.' The old man said to them, 'Go, and choose trials rather than stillness, shame rather than glory, and to give rather than to receive.' - Abba Matoes

Happy Birthday Pier Giorgio.

“To live without faith, without a patrimony to defend, without a steady struggle for truth, that is not living, but existing.” - Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.  April 6, 1901 - July 4, 1925

Just to let you know I did write an article on him. This article is entitled "A Breath of Pure Air", referring to his love for skiing. Yes, this is part of a series on Lay Saints.

I can't find my copy right now, but there is a lovely book written by his sister. It's called "Pier Giorgio Frassati: Man of the Beatitudes." It really goes into loving depths to the heart of the man, and really gives you a good picture.
