Heavy Snow in Minneapolis.

No - that is not a code for coke.
.
They closed adoration at my parish today.
.
I also have to shovel/snow-blow again.
.
Do you know it is kind of faithless to complain about the weather?  At least Angela of Foligno thought so - she pointed out that Christ subjected himself to all sorts of inclement weather, and was obedient.
.
I wonder why we are always surprised when some misfortune happens to us?  As if we deserve otherwise?
.
I love how Teresa of Avila used to scold people for being so concerned about their honor and their rights - reminding them of the humiliations Christ submitted himself to.
.
Even the saints found religious people tiresome.

  1. They cancel activities at my parish occasionally; note that Confession, Mass and Adoration aren't activities.

  2. I love how Teresa of Avila used to sold people

    Sold, or "scold"?

I wonder if Teresa of Avila would smack Fr Corapi upside the head...

  3. It was in the 70s this morning. We just had a nasty, windy t-storm, and there's a chance of snow later tonight. Welcome to Ohio.

Oh, I hate it when people complain about weather. I'm constantly quoting the first psalm from Sunday Week I Morning Prayer. ;)

  5. I apologize: not the first psalm, but the canticle.

  6. So sorry,Terry. Snow near April? I am always surprised by good fortune, myself , and am comforted by the fact that the Saints found religious people tiresome. We've an awful lot that is simply exhausting us these days, don't we?

  9. Nan, I am ashamed to say that I went to the Universtiy of Wisconsin in Madison, and remember crying because it was so cold. I grew up in DC! You have my sympathies LOL.

  10. It gets cold in Madison? Really?

I went to UND, in Grand Forks, ND, and it would be -30 for weeks at a time, but usually only in Dec and Jan. If it was -10 or colder, I drove to the next town south and back, just to make sure my car didn't turn into a big lump of metal. During finals my Senior year, all my friends made fun of my daily trips. They were not pleased when finals were done and their cars wouldn't start and they had to ask me for a jump!

Note that I'm not talking wind chill, but straight-up temps.

    Glad you survived Madison!
