Coma and Government Collapse...

What's the deal with all the deposed dictators falling into comas?  First Mubarak, now Tunisia's Ben Ali
.
Maybe Wisconsin's GOP Gov. Scott Walker could succumb next.

Photo: Wisconsin public workers protest at State Capital in Madison.  In Minnesota - especially Minneapolis - taxes are skyrocketing - and property values falling.  We need a tax revolt.

  1. Do you believe Gov. Scott Walker is incorrect regarding the Unions?

  2. I was just thinking after reading Dayton's tax plan yesterday that I should move to Wisconsin.

When you stage the revolt, let me know! If nothing else, it will be a good party!

  3. When my Minnesota friends tell me how much their property taxes are my eyes start to water.

  4. Paula - I haven't really been paying attention to the Wisconsin story - except to be amazed by the crowds protesting - I just used the photo to voice my desire for some sort of tax revolt. Thanks for the email - it looks to me the unions are trying to topple Government.

Unfortunately burgeoning beuracracy and over taxation just might effect collapse.

  5. .... Terry, ya know community organizering "all the rage" these days ...

by the way, it brings back '08 chats on "rave" and "anarchy via music" ... and this stream of thought by an author (just substitute the word 'rave' with xyz) ...:

"...this state allows their minds to connect on a deeper plane as they drift into the “Great Hypnosis” that is associated with Raves and the TAZ. Consensus and Cooperation go hand in hand with Community as one within the scene travels to hyper realities and caught up in the charisma that is--Trance (Hyperreal, 2005).

This Temporary Autonomous Zone allows us to our inner man and perceive ones self in another realm. This is affirmed by Maurice Merleau-Ponty when he quotes in his novel Structural Behavior:

"For the player in action the football field is not an 'object', that is, the ideal term which can give rise to a multiplicity of perspectival views and remain equivalent under its apparent transformations. It is pervaded with lines of force (the 'yard lines'; those which demarcate the penalty area) and articulated in sectors (for example, the 'openings' between the adversaries) which call for a certain mode of action and which initiate and guide the action as if the player were unaware of it. The field itself is not given to him, but present as the immanent term of his practical intentions; the player becomes one with it and feels the direction of the goal, for example just as immediately as the vertical and horizontal planes of his own body" -- Maurice Merleau-Ponty, The Structure of Behavior 1965.

In this, we can conclude that once the raver embarks upon their journey within the Temporary Autonomous Zones, they can mobilize and transcend planes and welcome, perspectives, and models of life, as they become one with themselves and the energy packed environment that the Rave; the Trance; the “Map” of life (Bey, 199)..."

  7. To put Scott Walker in the same category as Mubarak and Ben Ali is quite an exaggeration. I mean, get real. And then to suggest that it might be a good thing that he fall into a coma? Such a view is hardly in keeping with your quote from Proverbs (Plot no evil against your neighbor, against one who lives at peace with you. Quarrel not with a man without cause, with one who has done you no harm. - Proverbs 3: 28) or your ending disclaimer (I declare that I have no intent to acknowledge, distribute or encourage anything contrary to Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the Apostolic See. I submit myself and all the contents of this blog to the judgment of the Church).

  8. Oh sorry - I didn't realize you were just joking. Right? Would you think it was funny if someone suggested you or someone like Pelosi or Reid fall into a coma? Just sayin'. . .

I have a good sense of humor, but I would never joke about hoping someone became seriously ill. But, that's just me.

  9. Hi Ruth - I should have posted a smile face too.

I sometimes throw out comments just to link to a story and as with my post here - the main thing was to complain about taxes in Minneapolis.

The Governor used the word coma in his speech regarding those against his policies. Then the curious coincidence about the middle east dictators falling into comas - which seems suspicious to me - seemed segue-able as well. Obviously it didn't work.

Hyperbole - blogging is a bunch of that. I'll try to be more careful. God bless!
