Abba Poemen said: 'Teach your heart to follow what your tongue is saying to others.' He also said, 'Men try to appear excellent in preaching but they are less excellent in practising what they preach.' ***
I miss them both. They were gentlemen and didn't take the low road of blaming others for their mistakes. They weren't perfect but they loved America and weren't arrogant and rude as our current POTUS. A little humility goes a long way.
LarryD, those are just two guys who used to own a baseball team. Remember, those who can, do; those who can't, coach; and those who really can't, buy the team.

When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf Heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featur'd like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least:
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee,--and then my state
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings'. - Sonnet 29
O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you and for those who do not, especially the enemies of the Church and those recommended to you.
Holy Name of Jesus
Arise O Lord and let your enemies be scattered, and let those that hate you flee before you!"

I'm against it!
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.
Show us your face and we shall be saved. "Each soul is the object of My special love. That is why I am so grateful to those who are resourceful and bringing back sinners to Me. Keep this in mind then. I gave My life for them in the most atrocious torture, for these poor beloved ones. A humble repentance, and they are already on My heart. So speak gently to them. Speak with tenderness. A brusque remark could drive them farther away." - He and I
I do too, Terry. LOL
ReplyDeleteEver see those "Miss me yet?" billboards? I at least think both men had personal integrity, for what it's worth.
ReplyDeleteBless me Father, for I have sinned. I'm a married women who thinks George Bush is really, really sexy. Have I committed adultery in my heart??
ReplyDeleteLaura Bush looked stunning in the quick shot of her on the sidelines. So nice to see a real lady...
Oh boy. I think they both rank at the very bottom, precisely because they lack integrity. Sr. sits on one step higher than Jr; not the other way.
ReplyDeleteI don't...and I won't miss Obummer when he's gone, either. Politics=professional lying.
ReplyDeleteI don't either.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jr. throws like a girl. So there.

Who are those guys?
ReplyDeleteJulie, Obama throws like a girl too.
